  Professor of Airway Disease and Respiratory Medicine, Adult Severe Asthma Lead and Translational Lead for Breathomics Leicester University & Glenfield Hospital

  Role and Location 

  Professor Siddiqui was Professor of Airway Disease and Respiratory Medicine at Leicester University and NIHR Respiratory Biomedical Research Unit, Glenfield Hospital. He led he adult severe asthma service at Glenfield Hospital which was one of the largest severe asthma services in the UK and Europe. Professor Siddiqui leads the respiratory Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) theme for phenotyping and biomarkers of airway diseases and was the translational lead for the East Midlands Breathomics (EMBER) MRC molecular pathology node.

  Education 

  Professor Siddiqui achieved his BM in Medicine at the University of Southampton in 2000 and his PhD in Respiratory Sciences in 2008.

  Research Interests

  Professor Siddiqui has specific clinical interests in severe asthma, phenotyping and biomarkers of airway diseases. He also has interests in experimental medicine in severe asthma/COPD and advanced healthcare technologies.
