  Role and Location

  Dr Mahmoud Montasser is a Consultant Neonatologist at University Hospital Wishaw, a transport Consultant Neonatologist at ScotSTAR regional neonatal transport team for West of Scotland, UK, and honorary clinical senior lecturer at University of Glasgow. 

  Education

  Dr Mahmoud Montasser qualified as a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) from Alexandria University in 1990. In 1995, he completed his Master of Science (MSc) degree in Paediatrics at Cairo University.

  Research Interests

  Dr Montsser’s main special interests and areas of research are neonatal hemodynamic assessment, cardio-pulmonary vascular transition and disease, functional echocardiography, and lung ultrasound as part of point of care ultrasonography (POCUS) in neonates.

  Memberships

  He is leading with expert neonatologist colleagues on the national NeoFOCUS-UK group which aims to deliver training and education in this field across the UK
